WhatsApp comes with New fingerprint lock feature for Android Users Globally - CJ Creations

WhatsApp is the world's most used messenger app which is now owned by Facebook. Recently WhatsApp has launched a new security feature for Android users called fingerprint lock and Recall that Touch ID (Fingerprint Recognition) and Face ID (Facial Recognition) feature for iPhone users. The iPhone feature was launched in February but for Android version it is rolled-out now.

Feature available in this New WhatsApp Update

This feature allows the WhatsApp Android users to lock the app with their device fingerprint and unlock it using the authorized fingerprint which is registered in the device. Here we can avoid the usage of using third party apps lock app lock,etc.

The function of the lock feature in the Android version is also same like the Just like Touch ID feature which is available for iPhone users from Feb and now WhatsApp Android users will also be able to use this lock or unlock the app with it. This feature also gives some customization for users convenience. It allows the users to set the time for to lock the app when it is left unused.

Here you get three options,

1. If the user selects the first option the device will be locked immediately after closing the app.
2. The second option lets the user to lock the app automatically after one minute of closing.
3. The third option allows the user to lock the app after 30 minutes of inactive time. 

WhatsApp users Don't use this feature to avoid getting Hacked

Apart from this, now users can also choose whether the message of the sender appears in the notification or not. This feature will only available if the Unlock with Fingerprint feature is active. When this feature is turned off the Show content feature will also be turned off.

How to Turn ON this Feature?

This feature can found under the app settings > account > Privacy > Fingerprint lock. Once user find the path mentioned above they can make this feature enable and disable using their fingerprint.

Note: This feature is available only above the Version 2.19.308 in Android Platform.

Still the Android Users didn't get the Face unlock feature as the iPhone user has, but whatsapp says android users will also get this feature soon.
